Transform ToolsΒΆ

You can modify a scene graph node transform using the transform tools.

Translate

Translate an object
  1. Select the scene graph node or the transform node using the Node List.
  2. Select the Translate tool using the Toolbar or by pressing W.
  3. Modify the transform by holding down on the X, Y, Z axis or on the middle box then moving mouse in a Viewport.

The box translation tool translates on the Viewport plane.

It is possible to snap the center of the node to the closest vertex, edge or face in the scene when using the Translate tool.

Change snapping mode
  1. Toggle between 'Vertex', 'Edge', 'Face' or 'None' using the Toolbar buttons , , , or Ctrl+B.

Rotate

Rotate an object
  1. Select the scene graph node or the transform node using the Node List.
  2. Select the Rotate tool using the Toolbar or by pressing E.
  3. Modify the transform by holding down on the X, Y, Z circles, the inner sphere or the outer light blue circle then moving mouse in a Viewport.

The outer circle tool rotates on the Viewport plane.

The rotation is done around the node center but can be performed around a pivot point.

Use a pivot
  1. Use a pivot by clicking on the Toolbar button.

By default the pivot point is placed at the origin of the world but its position can be translated at the desire position.

Change pivot position
  1. Select pivot by clicking on 'Preference > PivotPoint' in a Node List view.
  2. Change pivot position by using Translation text boxes in a Properties view or Translate tool.

Scale

Scale an object
  1. Select the scene graph node or the transform node using the Node List.
  2. Select the Rotate tool using the Toolbar or by pressing R.
  3. Modify the transform by holding down on the X, Y, Z axis or on the middle box then moving mouse in a Viewport.

The box tool scales uniformly on all axis.

The colors used for gizmos are the same as the axis at the bottom left of the Viewport: red for X, green for Y, blue for Z.
